In the news: alopecia is so hot right now

(Jo, I wrote this a couple of days ago, but might be a timely follow-up to your ‘hairy fem’ post)

I was watching a doco the other day, about body hair and women. It followed several women who stopped plucking, waxing, shaving, and chemically burning their body hair. One daft woman said she couldn’t stand her newly grown body hair because it felt “so unnatural”.

And on another day, I went to a new hairdresser who, I noticed, had a bit of under-arm hair. I instantly took a liking to her. I assume it’s quite rare to find a hairy beauty professional.

I’m all for body hair, AND for the freedom to change or get rid of it. All I hate is the increasing pressure to be completely body-hairless all the time.

So my sincere praise to women who let their body-hair flow free.

And now for the aforementioned news from Stuff.co.nz. It’s a pretty interesting read:
Scarred in the quest for beauty

It really pisses me off that our google ads are all about how to remove hair today. Except on this page, it’s reminding people to vote in the US elections. Still, that $9 we made so far will take us far, so we gotta sell out to the man…
