Smells as good as gold

Apparently, ancient civilizations attributed healing properties to pure gold, which was often included in cosmetic preparations. I’m not sure how true that is, but I do know that Linden Leaves is all up with their gold goodness, and when I wore it out on New Year’s Eve, I didn’t feel nearly as bad the next day as I should have!

Because Amy and I are lucky and spoilt, we were sent GOLD gel, GOLD lotion and also GOLD mist, as well as some lovely creamy gold eye shadow which I haven’t seen for sale anywhere. As I was planning my New Year’s Eve outfit to have all kinds of metallic accents anyway, it was the perfect time to try out the products.  They all have a similar soft scent that matches their ingredients – extracts of avocado and chamomile with a hint of vanilla. After my shower, my skin was a little sparklier than usual, and once I had slathered myself all over with the lotion, I was sheeny and glittery and lovely – without looking like a raver from the ’90s, which is always a bonus. It’s probably the shiniest body shimmer I have ever used, but it does seem more subtle than other products at the same time, if that makes sense? Yes? Good.

Normally, we like to give away the products that we get to try, but I’m going to hold on to the gel and the lotion, hah! But! Instead, we’ve got some Linden Leaves Room sprays to give away. There’s a Green Tea & Lime, and Passionfruit & Echinaecia and both retail for $27.50 (have we mentioned that there’s free shipping on Linden Leaves NZ website?). If you want to win one, leave us a comment and tell us what stinks in your life right now, and which fragrance you’d prefer. We’ll draw them at random, and then throw in the GOLD mist for the answer we prefer. The competition’s open only to addresses in NZ, and we’re closing it next Friday. Yay for winning stuff!

Some old broccolli in the fridge that I am disposing of right now … well I would be if I hadn’t got distracted by Pretty Pretty Pretty.

Green tea and lime sounds like a far prettier smell …

Plus it stinks how people keep telling me I’m huge (hello I’m 36 weeks pregnant … whaddya expect?)

    Cheers!

Congrats Kebabette! on the baby that is, not the broccoli. I’m sure you look healthy and glorious.

Looking for a place to live in Wellington right now… They are either damp and filthy or sprong suprises on you right when you thin it is perfect (PS my kids live with me 50% of the time)… Or as an even worse thing they are charging through the nose for something you can’t even fit a Queen size bed in!!! Big stink!!!

But Passionfruit & Echinaecia should take the smell of dampness out of the air!!!

Oh I would love to have either fragrance but green tea and lime sounds glorious!
What stinks in my life right now is my boyfriend being away on tour and having no hot water because of my angry and unfriendly neighbours :( I could use a spritz of something fresh!!

What stinks at the moment are stupid neighbourhood cats coming and using my lovingly planted and tended vegetable garden as a toilet, forcing me to construct an elaborate system of bird netting on bamboo poles that completely surrounds the garden and which I have to battle to untangle to get aceess to my veges! Grrr.
    The passionfruit spray sounds lovely.

ANTS! Ants stink! Our flat has been the venue for the most massive of ant-parties ever known to… ants. It’s been going on since winter, and people leaving lovely smears of sweet sweet honey and jam has only encouraged them this summer.
And after it was pointed out to me – ants really do smell BAD! It’s a special subtle smell, but I can’t get it out of my nostrils and makes our kitchen a hold-your-breath-and-cook-quickly zone, hence I’ve taken to eating BAD foods which are quickly preparable to be in and out as quickly as possible. Vicious cycle. Winge winge winge.
Meanwhile they both sound delicious but I do have a hankering for green tea and lime xo

What stinks right now is my arms, from spraying the purchaced-unsniffed-perfume from trademe which sounded a lot nicer in the description than it does on my arms. I’m sure the green tea and lime fragrance would make me feel instantly less regretful and immediatly less smelly!
