chchOur beloved Jo is heading down to Christchurch next week and needs you to give her some insider tips. We’ve heard great stuff about Christchurch’s Minifies and Face Stockholm.

But tell us, what are the other pretty places to go in the Garden City?

Victoria Street has some pretty places .. including Minifies. Other goodies there are Frogmore (pretty bits and pieces, accessories etc), and there’s a a cupcake parlour just behind it. There’s a Kimberleys with an outlet store too.

For the more swanky and fashiony shops, go to High Street in town.

If it’s sunny go for a wander in Hagley Park, there are lots of lovely beds of tulips out at the moment and lush greenery.

Awesome, thanks Kebabette! I’m only down for 24 hours, but how would you feel about maybe meeting up? We could have tea and cupcakes somewhere?

I was going to suggest Victoria and High Sts. I’ve also always had a soft spot for Merivale Mall.

The Arts Centre is great for boutique shops (especially the bead shop upstairs) and if you’re feeling adventurous you should head out to Sumner, lots of cafes and some really lovely clothes and gift shops. Just catch the bus out and it takes you straight to the beach!

The Cupcake Parlour is down an alley off Victoria Street, and it’s just divine. Think Martha’s kitchen but girlier – and such yummy cupcakes, you’ll love it :D

As far as cocktails go, check out Sol Square and Vespa and similar bars around Poplar Lane – I like Poplar Lane more than Sol.

The Gardens and the rose garden are gorgeous in the sunshine!

One Big Sugar Bowl on High St is full of pretty jewellery and accessories.
If you feel adventurous, London St in Lyttelton has some cool shops too.

I just read your comment … maybe the 24 hours has already past, bum cause that would’ve been great to meet up.

It’s NEXT Sat/Sun lady, you don’t get to get out of meeting me that easy! How about brunch on Sunday, 11.30ish somewhere?

Yay! It’s the day after my birthday and a nice brunch could be just the ticket. There’s a couple of nice places I could suggest. Omigosh does that mean I’d be meeting someone off the interwebs?
