It’s now less than a week to go before our next party, so we hope you’re sorting out your old clothes and products to bring along. We’ll see you here, right?

More details about the clothes swap

Chiara gets lucky

Just a reminder that we have another Pretty Pretty Pretty party coming up, at my house at 3pm on Saturday October 17 (add yourself to it on Facebook here).  We hope you’re cleaning out your closet in anticipation, because a big part of that party, as well as of course sharing and enjoying sugary & boozey treats and favourite products, is the clothing swap. Because there were so many girls last time, it got pretty chaotic, so here are a couple of guidelines to make things run a little smoother.

  • Clothes will be sorted in Small, Medium, Large and Plus piles. There will be girls in your size coming along. Check out photos from last time if you want more evidence of the range of PPP readers.
  • There will also be a Special Good pile, in which you can put any designer items or clothes you’re really attached to, that we can all go through together instead of having a big free-for-all on, because I know last time some girls got into the clothes before anyone else had a chance, and people didn’t see who ended up loving the things that they’d previously loved before. The first time we had a clothing swap we went through all the clothes together and it was really lovely. I’m thinking there may be too many people and too many clothes to do that for all items, but if something has been really precious to you, then you deserve to see where it ends up, yes? Yes.
  • All leftover clothes that aren’t claimed will be donated to charity.
  • Bring accessories and beauty products that you don’t want anymore as well, and we’ll find them a good home.

Any questions? Comments? Testimonials from people who’ve come before as to how much fun it is and what awesome stuff you’ll end up with? I’d also just like to state again that I have met some lovely awesome new friends through the PPP parties, and I think you will too!

Anyone want some old magazines?

April 25th, 2009

In tidying and sorting my house, I realise I have a whole box full of old magazines that I don’t want, and I’m wondering if one of our readers could use them? There’s lots of Marie Claire, some Madison, a Vanity Fair or two, some reaaaally old (2004) Rip It Up and even a couple of Pavement. Anyone in Wellington want them? I’d prefer it if you could pick them up but I could drop them off anywhere in the city if need be. There may be one or two pages ripped out of each magazine but they’re in solid condition apart from that.

Tonight, you’re cleaning out your closet

July 4th, 2008

Don’t forget that your homework for this weekend is to clear out your wardrobes of any clothes, accessories, beauty products and magazines that you no longer want, so that you can bring them to our Pretty Pretty Pretty Party next Saturday to trade for fun new-to-you things! And also, please RSVP on our Facebook page – we’re making goodie bags (oooh exciting!) and we need to know how many to make…

Dud Trades: One woman’s FAIL = another woman’s FTW

May 1st, 2008

Vo5So, we’re all different people, right? And we all have different hair, different skin, different tastes and so on and so forth. Therefore, a product I might like is something you might hate, and a product I hate might be something that you’d love. With that in mind, I’d like to start up a Dud Trades series off PrettyPrettyPretty. First up, I have an almost full bottle of Vo5 shampoo ‘fade defy’ and its matching conditioner.

formulated to strengthen protect and promote a radiant shine promoting your hairs vitality. contains vitamins a, e and provitamin b5 which are released as your hair dreis when you need it most.

$4.89 each, thanks Woolworths online!
I don’t like them because they make my hair dull and limp, but other reviews on the internet offer it some praise, so perhaps it’s right for you. So would you like my shampoo and conditioner? You can have them for free if you pick them up from me, or I’ll send them to you if you send me some dud product you have.
