Review: Nivea Daily Essentials facial wash gel and moisturiser

I have purchased this product in the past, and I will purchase it again, for one big reason: it’s about $10 in your supermarket. I like cheap products that work! It makes me feel clean but not unbeliveably dried out (unless you’re a teenager, stay away from Clean & Clear!), and it’s pretty decent at removing makeup at night. I can use it in the shower, and while it doesn’t smell delicious, it doesn’t smell of anything unpleasant either. It’s a good product to alternate with a scrub, and I don’t have a problem using it twice a day. It’s not luxurious, but it does its job, and that is probably all you really need in a facial cleanser, right?

Well, you will need to moisturise afterwards, at least if you’re a combination skinner like myself. So that’s where Daily Essentials Light Light Moisturising Day Cream comes in.

This moisturiser does indeed feel light, which is good, and it has an SPF of 15, which is important. It does a good job of moisturising, and is around $13 in supermarkets.

So am I converted to it? No. It has a little bit more of a smell – not unpleasant, just noticeable for my super sensitive nose – than my usual moisturiser, Olay, and

I feel like it’s not quite as soothing. Apart from just using facial moisturiser on my face, I also put it on my hundreds of tiny kitten scratches, and the Olay calms my skin better. If you haven’t found a facial moisturiser that you love though, perhaps you should give this one a try on your next supermarket trip.
