Faux French manicure with Incoco

June 2nd, 2009

dsc03136A little while ago I blogged about Incoco dry nail polish. The pack I bought came with some sample french tips – basically a white strip and a natural-coloured sticker to stick over the top. It looks lovely, although there is a prominent ridge between the white and the ‘natural’. It lasts well for around a week. (After that it starts to peel and look shabby.)

It is by far the easiest french manicure I’ve tried. No messy nail polishes and no spending an hour in a salon. Only 5 mins to apply to both hands, no drying time needed. And easy to achieve very good results.

Incoco dry application nails

When I heard about these, I had to try them – stick on nail polish. And it’s as easy as it sounds. No mess, instant, lasts a long time without chips. But expensive. In the pack pictured, you get one full application (with 10 spare nails, so kinda 2 applications) for $14.50. I got mine from a pharmacy, though incoco.co.nz sells them for $12.95 online. Plus you get a little nail file and buffer and cuticle stick.

But I reckon for a special occasion or as a treat they are perfect. The finish looks professional, and is so fun and easy. It’s only day 2, but no signs of chipping yet.

Only problem is the sizing – was hard to find one to fits my little fingers. But that’s not a big problem. And the pharmacy I bought mine from was nearly sold out so I didn’t get much choice for colour…these things are obviously already too popular.
