I haven’t had any takers for the free Sally Hansen French Manicure set. I’ll even throw in some little white strips for the nail tips I found. It’s free! Just leave a comment and I’ll be in touch.

I have these two Sally Hansen Nail Polishes which together make a french manicure set. Awesome. But I have a number of french manicure sets now, so don’t need this one.
I will send this to you if you want it, just leave a comment. It would be nice as a swap too. Like, if you have a nail polish you don’t like, any one at all, you could send it to me
A little while ago I blogged about Incoco dry nail polish. The pack I bought came with some sample french tips – basically a white strip and a natural-coloured sticker to stick over the top. It looks lovely, although there is a prominent ridge between the white and the ‘natural’. It lasts well for around a week. (After that it starts to peel and look shabby.)
It is by far the easiest french manicure I’ve tried. No messy nail polishes and no spending an hour in a salon. Only 5 mins to apply to both hands, no drying time needed. And easy to achieve very good results.
Here’s a new french manicure product from Manicare. You use the white end of the ‘pen’ to paint on the white tips, and the ’shimmer pink’ over the whole nail for a French Manicure affect. The package also comes with the little white stickers that help get a perfect line for the tips. It costs around $15 from pharmacies.
It’s quite a handy way of storing and applying. If you buy these separately, and then lose one bottle, you render the other bottle useless (i.e. you can’t use the white without the pink and vice versa). It’s also good for carrying around to fix up chips in a snap.
The nail polishes themselves seem quite good too. The application pictured lasted three days without a chip. That’s pretty good for polishes in this price range.
There is a downside though. While you’re applying the white to the tips, the pink part is upside-down. Which means when you flip it over to start applying the pink, the brush end is full of pink liquid when you open it. I spilled pink all over my desk! So this product would suit the less clumsy among us.
Don’t forget this video with great tips to apply french manicure.
So today we tried an at-home French Manicure for Make-up/over Monday. My french manicure kit is just one of those cheapies from the pharmacy. doesn’t last too long but good for cheap thrills.
I watched this instructional vid below from youtube a while back and love the way she does her nails. I got sick of using those little white strips that come with the manicure kit, and much prefer painting on the white bits by hand.
The only tip i can add to the video is use a clear acetone (nail polish remover). the first time i tried this i used an acetone with pink colouring in it, so the white tips i painted on got smudged with pink.
Oh, and tonight, in keeping with the ultra girlie-ness of the occasion, i did this watching Girls of the Playboy Mansion. If you have Sky you could try that too.
