For our three-month anniversary party, the lovely Miss Kowhai brought along some Olive Hydrating Face Mist and to be honest, I really didn’t get it. If you want to moisturise your face, why wouldn’t you just put on moisturiser? But it turns out my problem was with the concept, and not with the brand, because the lovely Mrs. Kat just sent me some Olive Lip Balm with Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Shea Butter, and I totally adore it! It smells divine, goes on from its tube really smoothly, and makes my lips feel lovely and soft. It is the kind of lip balm that you can feel when you’re wearing it, so your mileage may vary if you prefer your products to not be noticeable, if you know what I mean. The directions for use do say that for best results you should apply it often, but I think it lasts pretty well – like a good hour between applications, maybe? And for a slick lip product, that’s not that bad. Plus, I really like this quote from their homepage:
To our family, olive oil isn’t simply a matter of food or health, but a way of life. Our products are our heart and soul, packaged up for you to enjoy.
Now I really want a martini with extra olives (an Olive Salad, even), and perhaps these fantastic Dorothy Parker martini glasses from Bust Magazine to go with them:
“I do like to have a martini
One or two at most
Three and I’m under the table
Four and I’m under the host”
It’s Friday! Oi live for Fridays! Okay, no more puns, but do have yourself some fun okay?
