It’s spring here in Wellington, but it’s not the kind of spring you might be used if you live in most other cities. The weather is very windy, often cold and ever changing. I have scarf at the ready all year round living in the Windy City. And what better than a maths-scarf?dovemoebiusscarfhat

I found this scarf on craftzine.com. It’s a Mobius (or Moebius) strip which makes it very interesting mathematically speaking. If an ant were to start walking from a point on the surface of the strip, and walk straight for an entire loop, it would end up at the same point – but upside-down on the opposite side of the strip!!

A model of a Mobius Strip is made by taking a paper strip and giving it a half-twist, and then joining the ends of the strip together to form a loop.

You can also do the same to make a shoe as United Nude have done below. I saw these shoes for sale in Kirkcaldie & Stains a few years back.
