Memories Soap and Lotion set

Let me make up for radio silence on my part by offering up a chance to win some lovely prizes, thanks to the always-generous Linden Leaves.  We’ve got gift sets of the Aromatherapy Synergy range up for grabs:

Four unique fragrances compile the Aromatherapy Synergy range using natural blends and each with their own characteristics:
Memories – a blend of rose, geranium and ylang ylang; in love again- a sensual blend of neroli, vanilla and sandalwood, pick me up – a rejuvenating blend of mandarin, petitgrain, rosemary and lavender and absolute dreams – a mellow blend of lavender, sandalwood, cedarwood and orange.
Each set contains a body lotion which is easily absorbed and formulated with sweet almond oil for pure hydration, and keeps skin feeling soft and nourished. A gentle vegetable soap enriched with certified organic rosehip and avocado oils, each variant has its own unique scented blends and is packaged in a beautifully artworked soap box.
Enter the competition today to be in the draw to win one of four beautiful Linden Leaves Aromatherapy Synergy soap and lotion sets. We’ve got one in each scent, so because it’ll be hard for you to choose which one you want, we’ll make the competition part real easy. Just leave us a comment telling us which fragrance you want, by Wednesday June 10. That way, you’ll get your prize in time for my birthday, which, for your information is June 17, and you can think of me when you smell yourself. Awesome.

Just the thing for winter…

July 1st, 2009

yellowShuella presents the shoe-umbrella. RRP: $US49.95 + free international shipping. 4 colours to choose from.

This quote from flossie.com:

More often than not, a gorgeous pair of heels or boots were not designed for walking in puddles, or running through a downpour. That’s why American, Rebecca Miller invented the Shuella. A plastic over-bootie, that does up with Velcro and keeps your shoes (including high heels) safe from splashes. Available in bright statement colours (buttercup yellow, pink, green) or the more subtle black, the Shuella eliminates the need for a  second pair of more practical shoes, and folds up into your carry bag and slips into your bag when you reach your destination.

You can win a pair of your very own by leaving a comment at the bottom of flossies’ post.

Herbalist Facial Care Pack – review AND giveaways!

April 13th, 2009

As you may have heard, we’re having a bit of a party next Saturday, and so the lovely Lou sent us some Linden Leaves products to help us celebrate. Not one set, or two, oh no. We have TEN full sets each valued at $31 to give away at our party. Except that I decided that’s not really all that fair, since not all of our readers are in Wellington, so we’re going to give five packs away to people who can’t make it to the party, and we’ll give the other five packs away on the night.

Natural cleansing and hydration in a smartly boxed set. Ideal for on-board travel or as a starter, this kit contains three 20 ml bottles of herbalist cream cleanser, toning reviver and daily facial moisture, neatly boxed together with two spatulas.

Admittedly, one of the packs has been broken into so that I could provide a proper review. In fact, took it up to Tauranga with me because it’s totally perfect for travel – just a little bit bigger than a tampon case, you can just throw it into your suitcase and not have to worry if you forgot your cleanser or your moisturiser. The creme cleanser is really soft and gentle, definitely the kind of thing you could use every day. The moisturiser is quite light, with a delicate scent. I need to be responsible and point out here that it doesn’t have an SPF in it, so you would need to either only use this at night (which is the optimum time for cleansing away your day anyway) or wear it with additional sunscreen. I have never been much for using toner, but tonight I was taking a bath, so I had the great idea of cleansing before the bath, and since i knew I’d come out feeling a little greasy again from the steam, toning afterwards. It worked great, and my skin is now feeling taut and smooth and soft. That’s how we like it.

So, if you want to win, and you live outside Wellington, leave us a comment telling us what we should do at our party. What fun game or activity do you think we’ve failed to consider? And if you want to win and you live in Wellington, as well as party game suggestion, we need to hear your excuse as to why you can’t make it. Entries should be in by 5pm Saturday April 18. And if you ARE coming to the party, we’ll see you then!

Love Wellington and love Linden Leaves

December 9th, 2008

You probably know that as well as writing Pretty Pretty Pretty with me, Jo also edits The Wellingtonista and that right now they’ve got voting open for the Third Annual Wellingtonista Awards. Amongst the nominees for ‘Best Apparel‘ are some of our favourite stores Swonderful and Madame Fancy Pants, so we want to make sure that you know about them, and that you vote.

Soap on a ropeIf you come along to the TAWAs award night, you’ll go into the draw to win a gorgeous prize pack from Linden Leaves but if you can’t make it on the night, or if you simply can’t wait to try their lovely stuff, we have a Pure Man Soap on a Rope to give away. I think the soap smells like rosemary, strangely enough given that’s one of its main ingredients, while Jo goes to far as to say “If I wasn’t happy being a crazy cat lady, I might be tempted to leave this soap under my pillow so that I could imagine that there was a gorgeous-smelling man sleeping next to me at night, But I’m not that lame, honest!”

If you wanna win the soap, just tell us what your favourite nominee in the TAWAs is before voting closes next Tuesday, and we’ll draw it with the randomiser.

Your chance to shine like a black opal

December 9th, 2008

Michael Jackson may have sang that it doesn’t matter if you’re black or white, but when it comes to makeup, it does actually make a difference, and I’m suprised he doesn’t know that. That’s why it’s awesome that Black Opal is available in New Zealand.

Black Opal is a brand of cosmetics and skincare from New York, made exclusively for women and men of colour. All cosmetics are richly pigmented and technologically advanced to enhance and beautify brown skin.

Black Opal has been used in the Miss Indianz 2008 Beauty Contest, as well as the Miss Asia Pacific 2007 and Miss Africa NZ 2007/06, and now it can be used on you too!

Thanks to the lovely people of Amaka Beauty, we have two vouchers for a makeover worth $80 and a lipstick worth $20 you can select at the makeover to give away. The makeovers are available at Life Pharmacy Manukau, Life Pharmacy St Lukes Metro and Unichem West City Pharmacy (There are other stockists but not who are doing the makeovers, so sorry, non Auckland readers! We’ll have something for you soon), and if you want to win, all you gotta do is leave us a comment and we’ll draw two winners next Tuesday with the help of the randomiser. Hurray!
